An Important Day for Melamchi Health Centre

An important day in the life of the Health Centre at Melamchi Ghyang: the daily management has passed from Purna Gautam, Headteacher of Melamchi School, to Dr Kanchha Sherpa. Kanchha was born in the village and the Nepalese Children’s Trust supported his training in the UK to become a doctor. He has returned to Melamchi Ghyang and now practises in the district. He is working in the same way a doctor in the UK worked 30 years ago. In other words, he visits his patients at home.
